Lawyers Are Standing By

Were You Injured in One of These Accidents?

  • Car Accidents occur on the roads leading to and from the SNPJ Recreation Center, particularly during major events. Martin Road and the routes connecting to PA Route 551 and PA Route 351 see increased traffic during Slovenefest and other gatherings. We handle rear-end crashes, intersection collisions, and accidents involving event traffic.
  • Truck Accidents happen on the commercial routes in the area. Delivery vehicles and service trucks traveling to the Recreation Center share roads with regular traffic. These crashes can result in serious injuries when large vehicles are involved.
  • Medical Malpractice claims arise when healthcare providers fail to meet the standard of care. SNPJ residents and visitors typically receive care at UPMC Jameson in New Castle or Heritage Valley Beaver. Errors in diagnosis or treatment can have lasting consequences.
  • Workers’ Compensation benefits are available to employees injured on the job. Workers at the Recreation Center, local farms, and nearby businesses are covered by Pennsylvania’s workers’ compensation system. If you were hurt at work, you deserve benefits for your medical care and lost wages.
  • Motorcycle Accidents result in serious injuries on the scenic roads through southern Lawrence County. The rural routes attract motorcyclists, but encounters with event traffic and unfamiliar drivers create hazards. We fight for full compensation for injured riders.
  • Wrongful Death claims allow families to seek compensation when negligence causes a loved one’s death. Whether the loss resulted from a traffic accident, workplace incident, or medical error, our attorneys help families through this difficult process.

Why Accidents Happen in SNPJ

SNPJ Borough is a unique Pennsylvania municipality, created specifically to encompass the SNPJ Recreation Center. Located approximately one hour northwest of Pittsburgh, the borough sits in southern Lawrence County near Enon Valley.

Martin Road serves as the primary access to the 500-acre Recreation Center, connecting to PA Route 551 and the broader road network. During major events like Slovenefest, Family Week, and National SNPJ Days, traffic volumes increase significantly on roads not designed for heavy use. The mix of local residents, event attendees, and recreational visitors creates challenging conditions.

The Recreation Center features a 20-acre lake, camping facilities, cabins, and the Alpine Room event venue. These amenities draw thousands of visitors throughout the year. The roads within and around the facility see pedestrian traffic, golf carts, and vehicles sharing limited space.

PA Route 351 runs nearby, connecting the Ohio state line to Ellwood City and providing access to the area. The intersection of Route 351 with local roads can become congested during events as visitors navigate unfamiliar territory.

Medical Care After an SNPJ Accident

UPMC Jameson, located at 1211 Wilmington Avenue in New Castle, is approximately 12 miles northeast of SNPJ Borough. The full-service community hospital provides emergency services, surgical care, and diagnostic imaging for accident victims.

Heritage Valley Beaver on Dutch Ridge Road in Beaver provides another option approximately 18 miles to the southeast. For severe trauma requiring specialized care, patients may be transported to UPMC Presbyterian or Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, roughly 50 miles away.

Event injuries and traffic accidents often require immediate medical attention followed by ongoing treatment. Physical therapy, specialist consultations, and rehabilitation can continue for extended periods. Our attorneys account for both current and future medical costs when calculating your claim’s value.

Preserving Slovenian Heritage

SNPJ Borough exists to support the SNPJ Recreation Center, operated by the Slovene National Benefit Society. The fraternal organization, founded in 1904, purchased the property and developed it as a gathering place for members and their families.

The SNPJ Slovenian Heritage Center on the Recreation Center grounds houses a museum, library, and archive dedicated to preserving Slovenian culture in America. Authentic costumes, household items, artwork, and crafts take visitors on a journey through the old world. The Heritage Center is open Saturdays from June through August.

Slovenefest, held annually in July, is the largest celebration of Slovenian heritage in the United States. The weekend event features polka music, traditional food, cultural displays, and activities for all ages. National SNPJ Days in September and various other events throughout the year draw visitors from across the country to this unique community.
