The wife of a famous announcer who has been calling wrestling matches for decades has died following a tragic accident in another state. Both of them had ties to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and the woman was a die-hard Steelers fan who often came back to Pittsburgh to watch them play.
The accident victim was traveling on a Vespa, a vehicle similar to a motorcycle, in another state when she was hit from behind. The woman's skull was broken in several places, and she had severe brain injuries as a result of the accident. The woman did not die at the scene of the accident but was taken to a hospital with severe swelling on the brain. She lingered on life support for several days but eventually had to be taken off.
Unfortunately, all too many motorcycle accidents that happen here in Pennsylvania end in a similar way. A motorcycle is simply no match for the size of even a small passenger car, and the riders on a motorcycle are obviously quite vulnerable to serious injuries without the protection a car offers.
Even though a motorcyclist might be able reduce the extent of injuries by wearing a helmet, the reality is that drivers of larger vehicles need to keep a sharp eye for motorcycles and other small bikes. When they fail to do so, the results are often tragic, as this story illustrates. Those who have lost loves ones in a Pennsylvania motorcycle accident may be entitled to receive compensation for their losses via a wrongful death lawsuit.
